<div itemprop="description">OLDS, Stanley George (Veteran of WWII, retired employee of Stelco) <br /> In his 95th year, passed quietly at Parry Sound Hospital on March 4th, 2013 with family by his side. Stan was born February 17th 1918 and was 1 of 9 children born to Harriet and Fred Olds of Hamilton. <br /> <br /> Stan served in the RCAF in WWll as a wireless operator and is one of the few surviving veterans in the Hamilton area. After returning from the war, he began a long career at Stelco where he was a foreman in the Continuous Galvanized Mill. Stan was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many wonderful days with family and friends at the Hunt Club on Walker Bay. His was a Loving father, step father and father- in-law to Larry &amp; Julie Olds, Stan Olds, Randy Olds, Sharon &amp; Gary Browne, Brenda Olds, June Ballard, John Berquist, Jeffrey Berquist and Janice Berquist. Beloved Grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Stan is preceded in death by his parents, his wives Faye Marie Cioran and Jean Berquist, as well as, brothers Bill, Chuck, Tom, Frank, Ken and sister Ellen Stone He is survived by his brother Jim Olds and Marion Staples. Dad, your guiding hand on our shoulders will remain with us forever. <br /> <br /> Family and friends are welcome to join us for visitation on Saturday March 9th, 2013 between 1:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at Dodsworth &amp; Brown Funeral Home at 2241 New Street in Burlington. Funeral services will be held Sunday&nbsp;March 10th, 2013 at 12:30p.m. with reception to follow. Interment will take place on Monday&nbsp;March 11th , 2013 for members of the immediate family.
