<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts on April 5, 2016 we announce the passing of Fred H. Headley in St. <br />Catharines ON. Fred was born on April 28, 1924 in a second floor bedroom of his parent&rsquo;s Toronto <br />home/store. He was raised in Toronto and attended East York Collegiate Institute graduating from <br />grade 13. After high school he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force serving oversees as a Sgt. <br />Navigator on board a Lancaster bomber. Upon returning to Canada Fred continued his studies <br />becoming a Chartered Accountant as well as earning a B.A. in psychology. In 1959 he moved to <br />Etobicoke, but continued to work as a Chartered Accountant in Toronto until becoming a high school <br />teacher at Central Commerce High School where he taught for 25 years before retiring to Oakville <br />ON. Fred was a member of St. Alban&rsquo;s Lodge #514 of A.F &amp; A.M. GRC. Cherished husband of 68 <br />years to his beloved wife Marian (Read). He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Florence <br />(Greenwood), his brother Alf (Alta). Loving father of John (Joanne), Rodger, Lawrence (Brenda) <br />and Heather Pokol (Gaye). He was adored by his grandchildren, Matthew, Kim, Kristopher, Laura, <br />Ryan, Jason, Dylan, Jennifer Ferguson (Selvig) (Drew) and Brittney Selvig. Please join us for a <br />Celebration of Fred's Life on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at the DODSWORTH &amp; BROWN <br />FUNERAL HOME- BURLINGTON CHAPEL (2241 New Street at Drury Lane 905-637- <br />5233) between the times of noon till 2:30 pm. Words of Remembrance may be shared at 2:00 pm. At <br />2:30 pm the family will proceed to a private interment.
