MARSDEN, Barbara

(nee Glover)

With sincere love and profound regret the family of Barbara Marsden are sad to announce her passing on Wednesday October 19th, 2016 at the age of 77. After bravely battling pulmonary fibrosis for many months, she passed away quickly and quietly at home with loved one close by as she had wished. Much loved wife of Alan for 54 years, beloved Mother of Geoffrey (Lisa), Stephen and Michael (Rebecca), Grandmother to Olivia and Jasper Marsden, Sister-in-law to Carole (Peter) McMurrough, and cherished Aunt to Thomas, David and Katie McMurrough. Barbara will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends and all those whose life she touched. Born in Leyland, Lancashire UK, Barbara was a career-long Registered Nurse, first in the UK and after emigrating from the UK, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to the Dr.`s and staff at St. Joseph`s Healthcare, Hamilton, for the treatment and care they provided during her illness. As per Barbara`s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment service took place on Wednesday October 26th at Burlington Memorial Gardens, 3353 Guelph Line, Burlington. Family and friends gathered for an “Afternoon Tea Open House” in her honour on Sunday October 23rd. In lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton (Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health) or Carpenter House, Burlington, would be appreciated.

Love you now, forever.
