Marlene Elaine Faulhafer (Dougherty) - On December 18th, 2015 at St Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton, after a lengthy illness, Marlene, dearly loved wife of 59 years of Robert (Bob) Faulhafer, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Born in Stratford, December 10th 1936, Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Ivy Dougherty (O'Callaghan). She is survived by three children, Steven (Kathy), David of Burlington, and Barbara Harrison (Eric) of Freelton. Four grandchildren, Robert Nicholl, Jessica Roos (Joel) of Calgary, Stephanie Forsyth (Andy), Mitchell Faulhafer of Burlington and great granddaughter Hanna Roos of Calgary.
She was a member of Compass Point Bible Church and noted for her baking skills by making varied desserts for large church suppers. A gifted musician, she sang in many venues as a soprano soloist and in several noted choirs and choral groups, such as 'The Song Spinners' on weekly TV for a time in the fifties and later with Hamilton's Bach Elgar Choir and the Singers. Music was her passion!
Marlene suffered through several years of disabling illnesses but is now at peace with her Lord! Special thanks to Dr. Dennis Brodie, Holly McAllister-Pominville and staff at Creek Way Village, Burlington, Drs. Duff and Grantham, Erik Vanraay, nurse Carly Gillchrist and the staff at St. Joseph's Healthcare, Harbour North One, Hamilton, for their care and concern for Marlene and family through some very difficult times.
Cremation has taken place with internment in Burlington Memorial Gardens. A private family service will take place later. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Community Living, Burlington or if you prefer to the Gideon's, Acclaim Health or a charity of your choice.
