NUTTALL, George (1924-2016)

George passed away peacefully in Burlington Ontario in his 92nd year on August 31, 2016. George will be missed so much by his family in Burlington – his loving daughter Lynn and husband Jim along with his grandchildren Matt and Kelly. George was born in Burnley, Lancashire England on December 17, 1924. George was predeceased by his wife of 30 years Edith Mary Nuttall (nee Sumner). George and Edith immigrated to Canada in 1957 and lived in Montreal, Renfrew, and Uxbridge before settling in Gananoque, Ontario for over 40 years. George was a tool and die maker and started his career at the Rolls Royce Company of England and retired from Stelco in Gananoque. George was an avid golfer and enjoyed many rounds with his friends in Gananoque along with morning coffee outings with the guys. He was a proud Grampa and enjoyed watching Matt at his many hockey and baseball games and loved entertaining his granddaughter Kelly that only George could do. In his later years George moved to Burlington, Ontario to be near his family. May you rest in peace and give our love to your many friends that are waiting for you on the links in heaven. Cremation has taken place and at George’s request donations can be made in his memory at The Darling Home for Kids – www.darlinghomeforkids.ca (5657, 15th Side Rd. Milton, ON L9T 2X7) a respite facility that his granddaughter Kelly has benefitted from for many years. The family would like to thank our special caregiver Marissa, the staff at Billings Court Manor, Dr. Robinson and Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and support with George.
