<div itemprop="description">Southon, William Joseph<br /><br />Passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Rita (nee Newstead) for 63 years, and proud father of AnnaMarie (Gord), Joe (Sandy), Paul (Georgie), Rosemary, Bill (Anne Marie), Gerard, Michelle (deceased), and Christina. Bill loved nothing more than spending time at the cottage among family and friends, with his fishing rod by his side. A born entrepreneur, Bill founded WPS Storage Systems Inc. 34 years ago. Loving Grandfather to Christopher (Amber), Jennifer (Paul), Katie, Steven, Connor, Dillon, and Nicholas, and Great-Grandfather to Ethan and Jack. Bill will be sorely missed by his children and grandchildren. Brother to Paul (Lise) and Mary-Ann (Paul - deceased) Martin and predeceased by in-laws Monsignor John Newstead, Doris (Doug) Connon, Violet (Malcolm) Bell, and Robert (Isabell) Newstead. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Joseph Brant Hospital and the nurses at CCAC for their care.<br /><br />Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 4th at Dodsworth &amp; Brown (2241 New St., Burlington) from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. A prayer vigil will be held at 8:30pm.<br /><br />A Funeral Mass and celebration of Bill&rsquo;s life will be held on Monday, October 5th at 10am at St. Raphael&rsquo;s Roman Catholic Church (4072 New St., Burlington), followed by internment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington).<br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />- Gone Fishing! <br /><br /></div>
