Gordon passed away peacefully on Friday January, 23, 2016 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Husband to Helen (Freeman), father to Reid (Debbie) and Patricia (David). Predeceased by his first wife Janette (Vila). Dear brother to Judy, the late Margaret and late John. Grandad to Gordon, Christopher, Hilary, Matthew, Katherine and Scott. Gordon was also a loved member of the Freeman family. A WWII navigator for the R.C.A.F., long-serving employee and executive for Stelco, lifetime member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club, and Saugeen Golf Club.
Gordon will be remembered as a gentleman’s gentleman whose sense of humour, integrity and generosity was an example to all. An avid reader who enjoyed sunsets in Southampton, family gatherings and a par on his scorecard with equal enthusiasm.
The family will receive friends at Dodsworth & Brown, 2241 New Street, Burlington, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. visitation, 11:00 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum to help keep the Lancaster flying.
