PICHLER, Erich

(May 22, 1930-January 26, 2016)

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Erich a loving Father, Opi and Gross Opi, Uncle and Friend. He has joined his loving wife Mary, who passed away on May 23, 2015 and has been patiently (?) waiting for him to join her in Heaven. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Denise Hall (John), granddaughters Becky Costigan (Joey) and Christie Gunby (Chris), and grandson, Dan Hall (Vanessa) great granddaughters, Maeve and Tova Costigan and great grandson, Hall Gunby as well as his niece, Debbie Jones (Gareth) together with beloved family in Austria. Erich was a devoted family man, placing his family above all else. His grumpy face would cry at the drop of a hat, at a kiss, a song, or for someone who won a prize on a TV game show. He was a long-time employee of Ford Motor Company of Canada for 36 years. He loved swimming, fishing, puttering in the garden and tending to his property. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the Staff at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas, Ontario together with Dr. Scott Nash, for their exceptional care, compassion and love for Dad. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of the lives and love of both Erich and Mary will be held on Sunday January 31st, 2016 from the hours of 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 2241 New Street (at Drury Lane), Burlington, Ontario 905-637-5233. At the direction of Mary and Erich, the Family would ask that you please join them at that time for food, drinks, a little German music and many wonderful memories. (No one came to their house without being fed and that tradition will be continued on January 31st). Online condolences may be made at www.dbburlington.ca

“I love you with all my heart Daddy, and expect to see you in my dreams.”
