Peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, in his 74th year. Bev was born in Goderich, Ontario, on June 24, 1938. He is survived by his wife Margaret (nee Campbell), brother Jim ( Diane) of Hope, BC and sister Sibyl ( Joe) of Goderich, Ontario. Sons Jeff ( Toni) of Surry,BC and Jason ( Lisa) of Liberty Township ,Ohio. Grandchildren – Haley, Chloe, Riley, Braeden, Olivia, Brody, Theran. Bev will be missed by his extended family – Mary McKenzie, Pat Gilmour, Verlyn Campbell, Jack and Florence Campbell and many nieces and nephews.
Bev graduated from Stratford Teachers’ college, McMaster and Brock Universities. He began teaching for Brantford followed by Burlington Boards of Education. He was an Elementary School principal with DND schools in Germany and the Halton Board of Education Bev volunteered for many years in Palliative Care and the Cancer Clinic at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Burlington Lakeshore Rotary Club, and St Luke’s Anglican Church. Bev’s generosity, humor and spirit will be missed by all who had a chance to know him. Never a greater loss than a loving husband, father, proud grandfather, and a great friend to all. He will be dearly missed by all those who were enriched by knowing him.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home – 2241 New Street Burlington Ontario on Friday, May 25th between 6 and 8pm. A service to celebrate Bev’s life will held on Saturday, May 26th 3:30pm at St Luke’s Anglican Church – 1371 Elgin St. Burlington, Ontario, L7S 1G1. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers donations to Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation / Building Fund would be appreciated.
